Salzburg Airport receives EASA-certificate

12/23/2017

The Austrian Federal Ministry of Transport, Innovation and Technology (bmvit) awarded the EASA certificate to Salzburg Airport in December 2017, which is the official license to continue operating the airport.

The European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) checks the safety of operations at European airports through inspections and audits. The aim of this certificate is the standardization of all processes, specifications of technical facilities, as well as the operational organization in Europe, in order to improve the safety of passengers even further.

To document these requirements, a handbook has been prepared, which has to be implemented as a guide in the daily routine at the airport. With the EASA certificate the Airport Salzburg receives, along with all other Austrian airports, the confirmation of the sucessfull implementation of these principles.
