Green Tour 2017 at Hotel Heffterhof Salzburg
2017 - Year of SustainableTourism for Development
The UN Tourism Organization UNWTO declared the year 2017 the Year of Sustainable Tourism for Development. The Austrian Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Environment and Water Management has launched the Green Tour 2017. As part of a tour through Austria, young bloggers visit Ecolabel hotels, national parks, restaurants and event locations and take a look behind the scenes of environmentally friendly businesses.

This is also the case at the Hotel Heffterhof Salzburg, which is holding the "Green Meeting" certificate since 2015 and the Austrian Ecolabel since 2010. A criteria catalog of 44 pages with MUST criteria of the Austrian Ecolabel must be answered and fulfilled in order to obtain the 4-year certificate. Every 4 years, the Hotel Heffterhof is undergoing a new examination to obtain the certificate awarded by the Federal Ministry.
In order to be able to offer certified "Green Meetings", a conscious handling of paper or packaging, as well as the use of regional products for the buffet is necessary.
In the Hotel Heffterhof, guests will not only check in to the new "treetop" rooms, which are completely equipped with natural materials such as pinewood or felt, but also enjoy regional and above all healthy, organic delicacies, from the organic breakfast, the coffee breaks during the seminar, until lunch or dinner at the Hotel Heffterhof Restaurant.
In addition, the Heffterhof is awarded with the "Umweltblatt" for above-average commitment and exemplary environmental measures. Woodchip heating, ÖKO electricity and energy saving lamps promote consumption and cost savings at the Hotel Heffterhof.
