The family run hotel & restaurant Gastagwirt in Eugendorf is focusing on the use of regional products and high quality. As of those efforts, the conference hotel in the Salzburger Land has been certified with the Austrian eco-lable.
A high amount of products is coming from the own biological farm or is purchased from local suppliers such as Salzburg Milch (milk), Käserei Woerle (cheese), Mattigtaler Hofkäserei (cheese), Schlossfischerei Fuschlsee (fish), or Edtmühle Neumarkt (flour).
Hotel- and seminar guests are treated with a fine selection of the natural products and regional specialties, which reflect the passion for details and a high quality demanding of the owner Anneliese and Fritz Maislinger.
Since 25 years the hotel is heated ecological by woodchips. In addition, major investments have been made in recent years in the optimization of heating control, high-efficiency pumps and heat recovery, which has significantly improved energy consumption.
A photovoltaic system with around 140KWpic power was installed in 2017. The air conditioners installed in the house on request of the guests in the hotel and seminar rooms operate with photovoltaic power. The entire waste heat of the air conditioning units is recovered in the existing cooling system and introduced into the heating system, which in return makes the air conditioning ecologically acceptable.
For these efforts and the focus on regionalism, the use of biological products, as well as the efficient energy usage, the hotel Gastagwirt was now rewarded by the certificate of the Austrian Ecolabel.
Sustainability and the usage of local products are a big issue for Fritz Maislinger and his hotel guests that is why the Gastagwirt is committed to the ideas of the Austrian Ecolable and accomplishes all criteria. With the Austrian Ecolabel the initiatives of the Gastagwirt are honored and well presented.
